I would think it a little insulting no matter who the user is.

Sorry for sounding irate.  I've been forced to use MS Windows
quite a bit for the past week or so, and I've grown pretty
frustrated with software than insists on guessing what I want
to do rather than just doing what I tell it to do.

Personally, I don't ever expect a program to auto-magically
guess what I mean when I type something.  When using a word
processor, I expect what I type to show up on the screen -- I'm
just very surprised that's that's not a reasonable assumption.
