Thanks for the info. Interesting, the Tab Stop Compatibility spec (http://specs.openoffice.org/writer/compatibility/tabstop_compatibility.sxw) states "Therefore the default for Number Recognition will be changed to 'disabled'." yet it was turned back on per 54397. Is there another spec that overrides the Tab Stop Compatibility spec? Another interesting note: - in OOo 2.4.2 the default for Number Recognition is off - in StarOffice 8/Update 11 the default for Number Recognition is off - in OOo 3.0.1RC2 (Build:9379) the default for Number Recognition is on - in OOo-dev 3.0.1 (9368) the default for Number Recognition is on - in SO9.0.1(Beta) the default for Number Recognition is on So it appears that since 3.0, the problem has gone full circle back to 27486 - the annoying default of Number Recognition (NR) being on... But it actually gets worse; 3.x turns the number format (I used the OP's '1-60' to test) in a Date format. 2.4.2 & SO8 keep '1-60' as a text format even with NR turned on, and properly recognizes a single number in a table cell as Number. Both 2.4.2 and SO8 recognize 1/1/2008 or 1-1-08 as a proper date format (for my local - US English). So it appears to me that something is broken in 3.x. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
