To restate the point slightly differently, obviously I have an issue with the idea that a straw poll during a meeting has any impact on what decision making mechanism we use. I also don't remember us using voting in any significant capacity, whereas you appear to. If it is a problem that someone disagrees with what is plainly written down, then I feel that the solution is to correct our actions to agree with what is written down. I'm not looking for punishment of people who haven't been following consensus. Its fine, we all mess up. However, we did agree to use that system so it would be super nice if we agreed to correct our course lest others get hurt. Otherwise, a proposal to change our mechanism is required. IMO, it is wrong to say "Well we stopped listening to that a while ago, so we're going to do a new one" when there are people who still adhere to the protocol and there is no evidence that we all agreed to change. > > If those mechanisms aren't suitable, well, they can still be used to change > the mechanisms themselves. > > > On Wed, Mar 19, 2014 at 12:24 PM, Torrie Fischer > > > > <[email protected]>wrote: > > > At last night's meeting, it became pretty apparent that it isn't clear > > > if > > > we > > > use Consensus with blocking or voting to decide on proposals. > > > > > > Here's what the Unified SYNHAK Code says about it: > > > > > > You need to be at the deciding meeting to block consensus or otherwise > > > contribute to the decision.
