I think the real competitor would be ClearOS. Has anyone done a
feature comparison or considered joining forces as a CentOS SIG for
future versions?
It has been a while since I have used (or needed) either so I'm a
little out of date on the topic, but my opinion is that since all of
the underlying functionality can be achieved with a stock Centos
installation the only reason to use SME or ClearOS is if the
configuration for the intended purpose is drop-dead simple and covers
all the cases you need.
