Hi, As many of you probably noticed, a couple of days ago a new version of the GPL license, GPL v3, was released.
I am now wondering whether I should switch to GPL v3 in free software that I am writing, so I am looking for comparisons of the GPL v3 to the well- known (and 15 years old) GPL v2. Has anyone seen a a good comparison? Let me just say what I am NOT looking for. I'm NOT looking for an introduction to free software (I'm already quite familiar with the GPL v2). I am NOT looking for a 50 page FAQ which answers everything except how v3 differs from v2 (see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html) and I am NOT looking for vague advertisements to the FSF's philosophies (like http://www.gnu.org/licenses/rms-why-gplv3.html). Rather, I am looking for a concrete list of differences between what v2 and v3 allows/demands the user to do, and how the v3 does it (in English, not Legalese). If anyone saw such a review, or can tell us their own impressions, it would be great.
