I love your project. RFID tags are really cool. Your solution removes that and is more general. As it is probably quicker and also less prone to error.
In terms of the tagging for barcode: These numbers are available in musicbrainz for example. If you use musicbrainz to tag it might be in your files already. You may get away without tagging the files by looking up the barcode uisng an online service such as musicbrainz and then searching the local library for an album of that name or similar. Just try scanning a CD barcodes with google goggle on an android phone for example. Actually that's even cleverer as it can recognize the cover of the album. Mmm another idea? Once you now the artist and album name you can play it or present a list of close matches to the user to pick from. This of course means that you have to have a camera device of some sort (probably a smartphone). In fact on android you may be able to hook onto some of the intents launched by google goggles on music cds, for example opening an amazon link? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ lrossouw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3416 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97891 _______________________________________________ diy mailing list diy@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/diy
