No recent Sendmail dkim-filter should be crashing on CentOS5 for any reason whatsoever. CentOS5 is a dead ringer of Red Hat RHEL5/Fedora FC5/6 and I've had Sendmail dkim-filter running on both of the latter in production since v0.7x (running 2.4.2 now). No non-Beta dkim-filter version has ever, ever crashed for whatever reason. I would add, though, that the discipline of versioning when making any changes to configuration whatsoever, by whatever means, is paramount.
