If we create a mechanism that TLD operators will use, it can also be used by other parents. If we create something that TLD operators will not use, it's utility will be extremely limited.

It's "inline signaling using signed DNS data". Regardless of the details of the
RRtype format, they will be able to see it, use it, or ignore it without
operational impact. It is the only method that satisfied all use-cases.

Which is why I think we do not need to reach out further/again to the
TLD people.
