Works for whom? I think it's entirely possible for the GNU people to come up with something they think works that does not break anything. Personally, I'm not convinced they're right about the first part, but I'm happy enough about the second. IMO that "happy enough" ought be the limit of our concern - we're doing wrong IMO if we try prevent the GNU folks trying their thing just in case it works better than expected. And that's how I at least perceive a lot of the discussion on this topic. S.
