Salam, We have until September 26th to translate GNOME 3.2. Starting from September 6th we also have a "string freeze" (meaning that no changes are made without confirmation from the gnome-i18n team). So we have 50 days to translate ~7700 string. While this might sound huge, we don't have to translate all of this: we'll focus on the desktop components (~4400 strings, ~3300 if we exclude evolution).
So all in all, I'm optimistic about this. Even if we don't translate everything, getting it to, say, 90% (now it's 80%) would be a huge improvement (better than 2.30, 2.32 and 3.0). But to get there we need volunteers. You don't need to invest too much time, every little helps :-) I'd also like to know what work flow you prefer. The gnome "damned lies" site [1] can now be used for organizing translations. Some people might prefer old-fashioned communication using email. I'm fine either way, I'd just like to know your preference. I'd also like to organize weekly meetings on IRC, these should be informal where we just meet to discuss the translation status and priorities and perhaps work a bit on the technical dictionary [2]. Anyone willing to take part?
