I don't think there is, at least not on x86. On SPARC you can go to the 
Boot PROM prompt, at least (though I can't recall seeing a switch like 
this). x86 is an auto-boot system, with no PROM commandline to fall back on.

The frustrating thing for me is that the one PC _used_ to run OS, and 
something has changed so that it no longer runs current versions. The 
Solaris 10 Update 1 DVD works. Anything I have that's more current fails 
to even get to the GRUB portion.
