John,
I have minimal experience with a '99 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L. It seems to me
that it is geared in such a way, that the smaller engine runs at a higher
RPM to maintain torque, and horsepower. I have heard so many less than
desirable things about the 2.7L it kind of scares me. I purchased this
'99 on my mother's behalf, because she was not able to comfortably shop
for a car, for herself. ( It actually was kind of cheap at the time, and
had 68000 miles) I have done all the maintenance and repairs myself, and
changed the oil at 2500 to 3000 mile intervals. I have had several
different common failures occur, but none engine related. The car now has
112,000 miles. My mom reports 22 MPG in most of her driving, and 32 hi
way. She likes her car, and I keep holding my mouth just right, so
hopefully that wards off any bad juju!
Have you ever driven a 3.5L Concorde, to compare that to the 3.3L?
