yes and if ya look down the oil cap in the front driver side of engine if it is 
a 2.7 using a flashlight you can see the front of the cam and rocker, and 
timing chain look to see if you see ony sludge, should be just oil and no 
sludge. using synthetic oil will cure the sludge problem only if it hasnt 
allready started ihave almost 90000 on my 99 trep and no sludging at all

!!!!!!!! they do not have a good reputation. they have a "sludge" problem , and 
regular 3.000 mi. oil changes don't seem to matter. so if it has this motor 
keep an eye on it, and change the oil often. hope you have good luck with the 
car. i had 3 so far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
