Coincidentally, last year I just put some new shoes on my '04 White SXT with some Goodyear Assurance tires with mfr spects of 225 60R16. It's a great looking tread and great traction but I'll agree with the Goodyear rep that offered them to me that it's a little over the top, maybe for down here in ATL. A slightly noisier but excellent all weather tire with a hardly noticeable decrease in fuel. This was said to be a good tire for this car.
My '04 SXT is my second 2nd generation LH platform Intrepid I've owned. I owned a Platinum '99 and fitted it with some Goodyear tires also. I put on her some 3rd Gen Aquatreads (and, at least, getting about 25,000 miles out of them before I totalled that one at 47,000). I remember liking that tire a lot as well.
