Hi Brian thanks for your experience and views on this. I think I'll not have it changed. I don't see it costing less than $500 and with the car replaceable with the 3.5 liter for just $2000 and it not having actually failed yet, I think it probably just isn't worthwhile unless there are safety issues.
You must have been happy if you paid to have it rebuilt!
