Yeh I forgot that bit Ian. With pistons at Top Dead Prop must be vertical and I reckon that's in the Limbach Manual. As there will be a slight error in the balance of the prop and the engine is never perfect you can refit the prop 180deg round if you find a bit of vibration and often it will improve. This is also in the manual. Also the Nut torque is important when mounting. A Crows Foot Spanner is needed on the Torque Wrench for that. Of course observe the Torque requirements for the Locknut of the Pitch Change Shaft when adjusting. In the end refer to the relevant Manuals. ALL 3 of them. Nige.

(well seems that way - it must be 30+ years ago I got a Pawnee prop from him). He is a bit old and he is not a very good painter (I could do a better job and I am hopeless). He usually sends it back with bubble wrap stuck to red tips which he painted 1 hr before he packs it. Make up a wooden box. Be advised may will have to changed from 6mm to 8mmat OH and this is expensive. Just give him time to do it and make sure he has a kit in stock before it is sent Usually nothing to do after refitting except 1 or 2 adj to pitch to get it right (leave spinner off while you do it. It is best to have the mag impluse click 30 deg before vertical as it is best to bave the bang at vertical It is bast to buld a wooden box for prop transport Ian McPhee 2009/6/28 John Mason <[email protected]> G'day everyone. The prop on GJD runs out of hours at end of July. I've spoken with Tom Gilbert (he does the Form 2's) and he suggests we remove it ourselves and send it off to the propellor people. Q1: Who are the propellor people? Does anyone have a name/address/email etc. they might be able to share? Q2: I don't have a Form 2 rating (just DI), but one of my friends at Leeton (Al) does. Is this enough quals to legally remove the prop, and more importantly, put it back on when I get it back? Q3: Assuming it is ok for us to remove/re-install at Leeton, does anyone have a manual or procedure for same? I'm assuming that there'd have to be some sort of checklist to follow to do the work properly. Can anyone help me out with that? Thanks in advance. John Mason - Leeton
