We have filter mounted down low in vertical hole/panel behind fuel tank and
can be removed and changed as hoses are longish. No need to remove filter

We always use a Mr Funnel for all re fueling and about once a year we notice
rubbish in funnel which did not get into fuel tank

Personally I wish the Dimona had a gascolator with the drain extension to
outside of glider OR if really keen I would build a glass box with a
gascolator and little external trap door to drain and check gascolator.
Everything was flush with bottom so nothing would get broken off in event
of serious crash. We did this once to NZ Pawnee but I got it signed off by
a engineer - unfortunately Dafydd Llwellyn is now retiring and will not take
on new work.
