Seems to be that whoever is uilding the road and southern gas networks
have coordinated to dig up all the roads at the same time, making
things even worse. BT just does as it pleases, it would seem. I was
talking to a town council planner and he mentioned some of the madness
BT gets up to. Back in the 80's when mains gas was installed and the
electric shoved in the ground, the town planners agreed it would be
productive to bury ducts for use by BT. Alas, BT stated that as the
ductwork wasnt installed by them, it couldnt be used. Madness really,
as the stuff is still buried in the road and unused...
