Yes.  I did try that and then got diverted by the discovery (I thought) of the 
way to get the Creative camera working.

In fact, it will be Firefox 35 that will support the 'Hello' feature with 
video conferencing.  The link in the page that you cited is to the beta 
download.

I didn't install it because it seems to be similar in many respects to 
Hangouts, which has a number  of downsides; the main ones being a distinct 
latency which means that the lip-sync is lost and the fact that the feature is 
an 'invitation only' arrangement, whereby the user has to send an invitation 
to the other participant(s) who then join in by opening Chrome(ium) and 
joining the discussion.

The reason I was attracted to the Tox clients was the fact that they are like 
Skype in that once the ID of the participant(s) has been exchanged, a call can 
be initiated by 'ringing' the other party who 'answers' it.

I think that my mother would struggle with joining a discussion in 'Hangouts' 
or 'Hello', let alone initiating one!
