It's good to know about all these different tools, although this one appears to
be very similar to the Firefox 'Hello' tool that Ralph told us about.
Hopefully they will all learn from each other and get better as a result.

So far, most of these tools are mimicking Google Hangouts, in that users have
to pre-arrange a time when they will both (all) be online and then 'Join' the
conversation.

The only tool that seems to mimic Skype at the moment is Tox and its various
clients, but it is in early development and too flaky for prime time yet. The
difference is that any user can tell from their list of contacts whether the
person they want to 'Call' is online, 'Ring' them up and have them 'Answer'.
(Just like a phone.)

The Hangouts approach has proved to be too difficult for my Mother to get her
head around. Having said that, Hangouts does have a Desktop App that puts a
little icon on the Desktop and allows Skype like behaviour. The trouble is
that the video quality on Hangouts isn't good enough (yet) ;-(
