Nothing ever works! I bought a new USB Stick with 16 GB of space for this, because all the ones I have are USB A and the Mini only takes USB C. When I plugged it in, it still didn't work, because the body of the connector pushed through the shell instead of the connector going in to the car! (It's a dual USB A / USB C device where the unused end folds into the handle.) Then I damaged the shell trying to pull it back....

I'm sure that the flat file requirement was the original problem, but now I can't even plug in the device. ;-(

I'm going to send the duff device back (bad design) and go elsewhere for a new one.
