No, more than that.  We don't know what the Mini doesn't like so remove
as much of what's possibly objectional as you can.

 ‘If the Mini still refused to play ball then I'd start at the opposite
  end: have a FAT32 USB stick with nothing but three MP3 files at the top
  level.  Don't let the MP3s be anything too exotic, like particularly
  long.  And have their filenames be simple, e.g. no spaces, and no
  too unusual punctuation.
