We are waiting with anticipation for the response of the Mini people.

The response is that the four, (yes four) USB C ports are for charging devices only. (There is also a cigarette lighter socket for powering dash cams, etc.

So no data ports, these were removed when the later models came out, but all five passengers can simultaneously charge their phones.

I just made my feelings felt to the poor guy at Marshalls, even though it's not his fault. He has promised to convey my complaint to his Manager. (Apparently, I'm not the first.

It gets worse. The manual implies that music can be played using Android Auto, so I uploaded all of my MP3 files to my phone (all 1483 / 7.4 GBS of them). That works (although it's fiddly to get going, but the track names and artist data is not made available on the Mini Interactive Unit (the big round display in the middle of the car that mimics the original 1950s Mini Speedo). It is also not possible to create a Playlist.

The only way to get the information and Playlist functionality is to subscribe to Spotify or YouTube Music. There is no way that I am going to pay £9-10 per month, when I have already paid thousands for the music that I like.

I don't suppose there is much that I can do about this, except to escalate a complaint to BMW MINI. It is a shame because the car is excellent and is simply let down by the Infotainment system.
