I'll keep an eye on this discussion. We have a 36 inch Samsung that is
quite old and a PVR that is also quite old - went out of date in 2010.
She likes it because she can run it. I did try updating, but she
couldn't get on with the linux file management like system. It's good
because we can manually ff over the ads.
Is there a smart TV with an inbuilt PVR type system? I don't want one
where we have to scan I-player or whatever to continue what we were
watching.
Appreciate your thoughts.

We need a new TV for the bedroom. Our previous setup has been a

Recently the TV has developed an annoying flashing problem and the

setup is at least 5-10 years old.
The ideal spec is for a Smart TV, but my wife has found that modern
TVs all come with AI built in an she is very suspicious of AI in all
its forms. Google confirms that none of the top-of the range
manufacturers offer a TV without AI, but alleges that functionality is
limited to controlling screen settings to prevent smearing etc.
However that information is generated by AI :-) I am less paranoid,
but my experiences with the lies spewed out by Google AI have not
enthused me to buy anything with uncontrollable AI in it.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Ideas?
