Yeah, I can see that this must be a windows problem. I'm really at wit's end and may have to accept defeat. I had already tried manually associating firfox with .htm, .html, and url:blah blah... That didn't work. The reinstalling didn't work either! What I don't understand is that every other application I have accepts firefox as the default. When I click on any link or shortcut, even within Outlook, it fires up firefox ;-) And, like I said, the google deskbar sends its searches to firefox. Heck, even the windows address bar opens firefox! So, although I accept that it's a windows problem, I just don't understand how no other applications seem to fall prey to this windows weakness... I don't want to suggest it's a bug in dqsd, but maybe dqsd should develop some way around this issue for those of us who can't get it working. Why couldn't there be a preference for the path to the browser?
Thanks all for your help! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of John W. I can think of 2 methods. 1. Have .htm and .html on your PC. Browse to them in Windows Explorer. Right Click and "Open With"... "Choose Program". When the select app window appears check off the box that says always use this app to open this type of file. See if that does the trick. Else... 2. Open Windows Explorer. Tools... Folder Options... File Types. Find "URL:Hyper Text Transport Protocol", "HTM" and "HTML" and make sure their default action is open ant that the application is the browser that you want. Let us know if that helps.
