Hi all,
I've forwarded the file 'SLICKY.JPG' to Don Stewart for deposit in the drop
box on his web site (www.si-inc.com).
>From my discussions with the fellow, he built one of the first kit Q2's
after seeing it on the cover of Popular Science (most will remember this
one). He raced it in CAFE races of the early/mid 80's with Rotorway
powerplant. At some point he made female molds for the fuselage, and found
he could build a very light aircraft.
His prototype, the one shown in the brochure, was destroyed in a fire after
an off-airport landing. His present aircraft has been modified with aileron
reflexor, differential elevators, and horizontal trim surface at the tail.
It sounds like he's experimented with just about every option available.
His hangar is also holding a SeaBee, which is undergoing a restoration.
Unfortunately, I don't remember his name, or I'd have mentioned it by now.
If anyone's interested, try the number on the brochure, Transition Aircraft
