Anybody know anything about this Q-2 knockoff from Arlington?
I was out west on business a couple weeks back, and cruised past the
Arlington airport. I spotted a Q-bird, and stopped to visit. It turned out
to be a 'Slicky'. I visited with the owner at length regarding the
aircraft, mods he's made over the years, powerplant options. He's flown
with VW, Rotorway, Rotax 912, and Hirth. I'm surprised he hasn't gone Soob,
with the main conversion guys, NSI and Stratus being local to him.
Anyway, he passed on a small brochure to me, showing his second Slicky
aircraft, this one with RV4 gear. It looked great, and claimed an empty wt
of 500 lbs with R912 powerplant. He says by pulling the fuselage halves
from molds, he can save a considerable amount of wt.
Interesting...
