Even white LEDs produce monchromatic light. Attractive for some lighting applications, but not for others. To me the appear cold and sterile, yet I do use them in places where it doesn't matter (to me). From my perspective, the pure blue just looks way too cool in the 7-line and I really don't want to go back to incandescent (especially for that pesky VFO lamp).
