I upgraded to the latest CVS. I now get things saying radeonUpdatePageFlipping allow 0 current 0 which I assume is the page flipping stuff that you referred to earlier. Unfortunately the framerate giving by glxgears now says 490. Rebooting with 'nosmp', gives the same figure. I managed to get glxgears to hang my machine, when I had a combination of RADEON_DEBUG_* set, but I've since failed to reproduce it.
