Ed, I'm curious why you are recommending this? There are other gateways that go offline for a period and come back - it seems like a lot of unnecessary effort if he will return with the same callsign --
For the convenience of his "users", he probably should unregister them and have them register on another gateway - but I don't see any purpose to what you propose here.
