This is what needs to be looked at for the next generation of Trust
servers - a system which has geographic diversity, redundancy, and
shares a common data set. The current architecture does not support this.

As others have said, there are very few reasons one would want a
separate Trust server under the current architecture. Some of these would be:

1. Test servers. These are for testing new software for G2
compatibility, without risking bringing down the K5TIT Trust server
and global network. This is a very prudent move, and one that is in
line with best practice for software development and testing. Seems
there's a few of these out there for this purpose, run by the K5TIT
group and others.

2. Special purpose closed groups. While I personally can't see a
reason for a small group of D-STAR users to form a separate network,
I'm sure some groups have a valid reason.
