Well, a few of us started collecting the info necessary to do the deed.
Turns out, there is way too much missing on the 2300 logic board to
support the chipsets we were considering. Bus speeds, incompatible power
supply issues... basically would have to create the beast from the ground
up...
On a partially unrelated note, we also explored building an A/D video
conversion board to take an LCD out of a laptop and use it as an external
monitor. I would still love to do that project, but I think I'd just
wait around a year for the 15" panels to come down in cost...
ah... the dreams we have.
