You are fa more macho than I can dream of being.

If I may ask, how were you planning to put the G3 on the 2300 mobo ? 
Can you do surface mount CPU work ?

As for the screen, if you want to do a favor for all duo owners, 
figure out which PC laptops (if any) used the same LCD screens as the 
duos, so we all have a cheaper replacment source.
