Well, I disassembled the 2400 again tonight. I removed the MB from the case
stiffener and assembled just the circuit boards together and tried playing
with the connections. The I/O board connector was a little wobbly. It
wiggled around quite a bit. However, once it is screwed into place it
doesn't move. I dunno, I reassembled it and gave it a whirl and no luck.
Well, it is now in its box and I will likely send it to DT&T here when I
get a chance. As I understand, they will inspect it and charge me $30 for
labor and however much the parts cost ($295 for a MB, $140 for an I/O
board, etc.)
Well, I had fun with it. I hope that DT&T can figure out which screws are
missing, because the first person who took this thing apart before I did
really butchered it.
Does anyone have other suggestions for where to send it? MCE?
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. Unfortunately it doesn't want
to cooperate.
Tom
PS: I ws asking about the Power Supply in my desktop Workgroup Server 8550.
If I open it up, I assume that I am taking a good risk at baking myself.
Correct me if I am wrong. I do understand that the 2400 internals do not
pose such a great risk.
