All I know is that I am typing this on a Dell Inspiron 3800 (not a
particularly inspiring machine despite its name) that is docked in its
Port Replicator. I wish I had my digital camera...however, the replicator
has a shelf that fits right over it for a monitor (currently a NEC
FE700). It is a perfect modern replacement for a Duo Dock. No motorized
latch or power supply to break. (it uses a normal laptop power cord). I
have access to the PC card slots, and it has built-in ethernet. It does
have the following problems, however:
1.) The laptop is running windows (Doesn't handle dock changes seamlessly)
2.) The laptop is too damned big.
3.) The replicator has no CD or floppy (a subnotebook wouldn't have them,
either)
I looked for a picture on the dell dite, but they have none that include
the monitor shelf.
