That's exactly what I'm worried about.  In my mind, a portable should be
just that -- portable.  9 lbs gets heavy, and fast.  By the way, can't you
buy a 96 MB memory card for the 2400, bringing the total to 116?

By the way, what's the battery life like on a 2400?

I agree.  The max is 64 MBs (of which on my machine I have 40 MBs), which is
too little to turn Virtual Memory off.  Since the HD is slow, VM is a real
drag.  (I've never used RAM Doubler -- should I be?)

Also, as I mentioned in my first post, it has the industrial design of a
brick, IMHO. (Well, maybe a beveled brick...)  It's a shame that nobody
makes a G3 upgrade for the 2400 anymore.

So, that strikes one off my list, leaving me with a Pismo/Wallstreet or a
2400.  Thanks for your help, everyone, insofar.
