Well, I have a 2300c, and it will not take you too far in terms of speed.
The greatest advantage would be that you can use your existing docking
devices (like the external floppy) inmediately and without a problem (that
was a good idea from apple), and you will be able to run all PowerPC
software (within reasonable limits... just don't go trying photoshop 6).
Also, they have become rather cheap models (wonder why it is so
depreciated?).

I have never tried the 2400 (but have sworn that I will someday own
one...), so I could give little advice there. The main problem I see with
it is that it's peripherals and accesories are one of a kind, and thus
expensive or hard to get, which is worse. But it is really a nice and fast
(and upgradeable!) notebook, you can not help but to love it.

The Tibook is really cool, but it's way too expensive relative to the other
options, and if you are on the road a lot, it may attract thieves and such,
so you will have to live carefully, also, imagine what would happen if that
georgeous screen breaks! a havoc to your pockets. In this, the previous
options are better: you can get parts for them for near nothing. Also, what
about floppies? do you use them a lot? if you do, you will still have to
buy heavy (and alas! non matching with titanium) external drives.

It seems that money is not a problem to you though, so I would try the 2300
(inmediate, no pain and cheap upgrade from your current system), and if
that doesn't suit you enough go for the 2400c (cool and fast, at g3 level,
but not so cheap....). Hey, I could even help you buying your 280c!

Oh, and by no means you should adopt a better attitude! :-) go for it!
