Hi Jerry, how does processor speed affect modem speed ? Modem speed(connect
speed) is a function of the cabeling and the wires the phone company
provides to your howm or office. My 33.6 modem will only connect at 26.4 if
it's connected to a G4 or to my 2300c. Please let me know if I am wrong, I
would love to increase my modem speed by upgrading my Mac speed.
Thanks......JWS.

Dear Jerry,

Basically, I agree with you. My motive for keeping the DuoDock up and
running is to limp along with it until I can buy a portable with 1Ghz
processing speed. At that point, I figure it will be fast enough to
provide optimal performance with a conventional modem. At home I use a G4
and am planning to get ethernet soon. The G4 and the DuoDock are linked
together so that I can easily exchange files. The only time I use the
portable is when I'm traveling.

Yours truly,
Lewis Coleman
