If you can truely get a 2400 for $700, that is the best bang for the
buck. When I moved from the 2300c to the 2400, my hair was blowing
back in the breeze. The speed difference is HUGE (L2 cache, PCI bus,
better video, etc., etc.).

I had a tricked out 2400 - G3/320, 80M, faster disk, CardBus upgrade.
But, I recently was tempted by the TiBook. I have had phenomenal
experience with it.

The performance is another leap above the (tricked out) 2400. The
screen is gorgeous, the keyboard is larger, the basic connectivity is
built in. (I got tired of lugging a 10/100 card, a WaveLAN card, a
modem card, etc., etc.

But, the price is significantly more (company paid) and you have to
abandon almost all old hardware (or buy adapters). There is no SCSI
port, no serial port, no ADB port, etc. I bought an ADB to USB
adapter and a Db-9 serial to USB adapter. Old power adapters don't
work either - the connector is smaller on the TiBook (though, you can
purchase a convertor from MadsonLine).

So, I love the TiBook. But, I loved the 2400 as well. The 2300 was a
slow, pain in the rear. No offense to this list or owners, but, the
2300c was the worst piece of Apple hardware I have ever owned.
