Thanks Chuck, you were one of the principles I was hoping to hear from. After digesting specs, prices, etc....I'm also leaning toward IBM. I find it very interesting that it's hard to find a port replicator for the low end machines of most lines, like Toshiba, and that after you spec 256+MB of RAM, nic/modem card, Win2000, etc. almost all of them end up over $1500 + a $200 port replicator. I think it shows just how much value there is in an iBook these days.
Thanks...and I hate the 'nipple' mouse also. >The hands-down always best IMHO are the IBM ThinkPads. They are damn >near bulletproof. Very rugged. My only complaint about them is the >'nipple' mouse and the flaky 'clickers'... (heh... ironic eh? Wasn't >the 2400c originally an IBM design? It too has a flawed clicker.) >But for overall durability they beat the rest by a far margin. > >hth > >--chuck goolsbee Ralph Mawyer, Jr. San Antonio, Texas Associate Editor mac2400 ... http://www.sineware.com/mac2400 Your PowerBook 2400 Reference Site ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
