Thanks for the help. I'm planning to splice the wires, so pin spacing is not an issue. I don't know what litz wires are, but I'll look it up. If it's hard to solder, I'll try the various fluxes that I have in my arsenal. Will try it and let you folks know. I'm not smart enough to give up :-) Seriously though, if I could live with a bigger case, I'd be using a bigger laptop.
