Unless your PRAM battery is shot, you should have several minutes in
which to swap batteries while the PB is sleeping, otherwise just close
down fully first.
(it also makes good sense to ensure that anything important (ie that
presentation you just spent 2 hours on) is saved to disk BEFORE the
book is put to sleep.)
