But that's precisely WHY the discussion went to PRAM batteries.  The PRAM
battery keeps the RAM fresh for that space of time while you're swapping
batteries.  The remainder of the discussion was more along the lines of
whether something like you describe would be helpful in the event of a weak
PRAM battery.

So the bottom line is, if I understand it, just put the 2400 to sleep and
swap the batteries.
