Just to clarify: I realize many companies behave this way which is why I intentionally 
mentioned the auto makers. It doesn't make it any
better and it doesn't excuse Apple from behaving this way. What makes it worse with 
Apple is that they purport to be different (and
Think Different[sic])! However, it is an important distinction to note for others as 
we all sometimes get so focused on a problem that
they forget it's all around them. In my own defense, I have been around the block with 
Apple's lawyers so many times that I have little
stomach left for them. However, I must say that in the end after considerable 
prodding, Apple always came through. Nothing ever came to
blows, but perhaps that's just my temperament. :)
