Actually, this is not strange at all. Apple, like any good corporation (for those
accusing me of Apple bashing :-), in effect "settles" any dispute arising out of
warranty, like a lawsuit brought against a company. Therefore, the company doesn't
want you going around bragging about your "settlement" as they do not intend to
necessarily "settle" future claims in the same way, nor do they want a precedent
set in one circumstance to be forced in another, because one party found out what
the other party got. This is not to say that this is always Apple's intention. It
is simply standard language in the agreement of which its most important function
is to ensure you will not come back and ask for more once they have made you
"whole". They are simply covering their butt from every conceivable angle. It's
typical legal & corporate mumbo jumbo.
