Hi,

I have just posted a patch which does work with the included ffmpeg
version _and_ with current ffmpeg SVN.
It actually removes the need for ffmpeg headers in a few places,
so I hope ot meets your approval.

I fully agree that it would be a waste of time to track every
snapshot. However, the ffmpeg changes Michael K mentioned have been
done a long time ago and will definitely be present in _any_ ffmpeg
release -- even if there doesn't appear one from ffmpeg itself (which
may be when hell freezes over^H^H^H^H^Hin a long time) then they will
be present in the distributions' packages.
Many of these changes actually add abstraction and remove exposed
low-level detail (e.g. the removal of globally visible
..._{en,de}coder variables. So I would consider these patches as "add
portability".

Wolfram.
