I sincerely doubt that there will ever be an official release again.

AFAIK, when the Eagles re-united. ;-)

Sounds like a big improvement.

On the other hand, new revisions of ffmpeg may also introduce new bugs
that affect dvbcut. When people use random revisions of ffmpeg, it's
almost impossible to tell whether a bug comes from dvbcut, from ffmpeg
or from some insane interaction between them. Since I'm not an ffmpeg
guru, and also lack the time to deal with this kind of shi^H^Htuff, all
I can tell them is "use the included version if you want support".
