In asking the question about use of both a TNC and MMTTY in my previous
email, I was acting on two pieces of information.

This is from the MMTTY v1.65 help file:
When you begin to set things up, remember that you need to consider how to
control PTT while you consider how to generate the AFSK/FSK signal. This is
because FSK uses a serial (COM) port, and this must be coordinated with
other uses of the serial port. It is not possible to generate FSK and PTT or
computer control over the same serial port. If you use FSK and also want to
use PTT or computer control, you need two ports.

OK, I have two ports.

The second information is from an MMTTY pdf, which says to select a port for
PTT (only) from Options/Setup/TX--but there is no such port list in the TX
tab box in v1.65 of MMTTY. It appears something changed in MMTTY after that
pdf was released.
