Hi David, Boot in safemode and remove all comports manually (in system setup) Except if the one that is used for a modem id installed Don“t attach any USB to serial or Bluetooth or IR devices, Let windows reboot now and wait until it has installed new found devices Check the resources of these new comports etc, afterwards you can attach the USB devices And check also there settings.

Windows insists com 2 - 8 are in use (only com 1 and 8 actually are) so reasigning the ports doesn't work. Now for the question Dx4Win only shows com 1 - 8 or at least it does in my setup so how do I get it to show com9 and 10 in the drop down list box so I can select them? Do I add them to portmap or is this only for parallel ports? I realise a drop down list box that actually lists the installed ports in the PC would be too simple.
