My trusty old Windows 98SE computer was destroyed by lightning. I have pressed into service a reliable Windows XP Pro computer. Since it only has 1 serial port, I installed a CyberPro PCI 4S which contains 4 serial ports, 2 on a PCI board and 2 more on a bracket that plugs into the PCI card.
The additional ports are labled serial 8 through 11. How can I identify the extra serial ports so I can assign them in DX4Win to rig control, Rigblaster and MMTTY? I really don't want to plug serial ports in willy-nilly because I fear breaking something. I have a break-out box and may try jumpering serial pins 2 and 3 to see if any lights blink but I'm hoping for another method. Please help, _ really need Glorioso!
